Maritoni “Bona” Wiese
Maritoni Wiese is popularly known as “Bona,” the “Sing-A-Long Comedy
Queen”, Born in Manila Philippines, she was a former member of Teatro
Pilipino and the Theater Guild.  She had performed in numerous classical
stage plays such as “Hamlet”, “Macbeth”, “Othello”, and many more under
the direction of Rolando Tinio.  She was one of the pioneers of the Library
Sing-A-Long Bar in Malate, Manila along with Ai Ai DeLasAlas, Alan K.,
Leonard Obal, and Arnel Ignacio during the late 80’s and early 90’s.
She moved to the United States in April of 1990 and worked along with
Leonard Obal to help establish the sing-a- long portion of Edna’s Ichiban
Library, located in South San Francisco.  Named as “Sing-A-Long Master of
the Year” in 2003, “Entertainer of the Year” in 2004, and “Comedian of the
Year” by Gawad Parangal in 2004, recently, she was proclaimed “Entertainer
of the Year 2006-2007” by Celebrity Chronicle.  Bona has performed in
various restaurants and clubs in San Francisco Bay Area, as well as in Las
Vegas, San Diego, New York and the L.A. Area.  She has performed with many
celebrities including: Christopher DeLeon, Tirso Cruz III, Tootsie Guevarra,
Jeremiah, Nanette Inventor, Fe De Los Reyes, Jo Awayan, Miguel Vera, Rica
Peralejo, Desa, Bernardo Bernardo, and Miriam Pantig. She recently
performed at Musikahan for 3 & ½ years. Now, she performs at Josephine’s
Bistro Bar & Grill (aka Pinoy Bistro), Every Friday and Saturday nights.
